About Us

Church Shopping?

Are you searching for a new church? Are you unsure what to consider when evaluating a new church? The following questions and answers are humbly offered as an aid to anyone searching for a new church to call home.

1. Is Jesus Christ and his redeeming work the center of church worship?

What makes an individual or family get out of bed on Sunday mornings to attend a worship service? ALL of us fall short of God's expectations. We come to worship to be encouraged and reminded of God's love and forgiveness because ONE person kept all of God's requirements in our place, Jesus Christ. A Christ-centered worship service offers relief to guilty consciences and assurance of our place with God in eternity. We hear this message every week at Bethany!

2. Is the Bible regarded as complete, without error or contradiction, and the inspired Word of God?

On our own, we can never come to God. He must come to us and reveal Himself to us. He does just that in the Bible. Through His message in the Bible, God actually works to create and sustain trust in Him in our hearts. So, you want a church that has a high regard for the Bible and uses it as the standard for everything it preaches and professes. Time and again, you will find our pastor turn to the Bible in our worship services, Bible studies, and one-on-one conferences.

3. Does the church teach that you must contribute something to your salvation or is it a completely free gift?

Are you worn out from trying to measure up to anyone and everyone? From an early age we learn that effort and achievement go hand in hand. We are told that if you want that bigger house or nicer car, you better work harder. While this philosophy may help you accumulate things, it will actually take you away from our Lord and His gift of salvation. Human nature is so corrupted that even our "good actions" are tainted with ungodly motives. Any attempt to contribute to our salvation cheapens the gift our loving God gave in Jesus' perfect and obedient life in our place. We really don't have to do anything to earn our salvation! It has all been done for us! Come to Bethany and hear about God's gift of grace!
